From the A38:Take the Plympton turn off. Head towards Plympton and, when you come to a roundabout, carry straight on till you get to another and then take the third exit. Follow this road until you get to the overhead road bridge

An excellent photo/video opportunity. Long line of sight for the climb up Hemerdon which tests every locomotive. Only possible problems here are the evening sunshine, which can create flare. | |

DIRECTIONS:Junction 26 (A38)Leave Motorway (signposted Wellington) and at roundabout take 3rd exit A38 A3855.600.80Junction with B3187. At roundabout take 1st exit (signposted Exeter, Tiverton) A3856.402.80Junction for Wellington (west). At roundabout take 1st exit A3859.200.83Turn left Unclassified 60.030.06Arrive at TA21 0HB,Beambridge Hotel.Turn right and immediately right again. Follow road up to top of hill. Whiteball Cottage on right hand side at top. Turn left, and follow single track road down the hill and under railway bridge. On exit from bridge, turn immediately right. (sign says no vehicular access private road) You’re at Whiteball! Please note: Parking is very limited here and you would be well advised to get there early. Please be aware that the approach lane is private. There is NO parking up this Private Road now.

Whiteball offers several opportunities for photography/video. The line curves round through the trees on an incline as in the picture above. It then runs along a cutting offering a pan shot for video, which culminates in the entrance to Whiteball Tunnel | |
