The King was moved to Crewe works, where she remains to this day.
There is no reason to suppose she will be back on the mainline any time soon.

Some pictures of 6024 in her prime, with a wonderful bunch of volunteers looking after her. It was a pleasure and a very great privilege to have been involved with her. It will never happen again but we all made long term friendships and memories which will never be taken away from us.

The first five pictures were from my marriage, at which we had our King as an honoured guest. She took us to Paddington from Yeovil Steam Centre where we had or reception. Such a wonderful day for us, with our King in attendance.
